Department of IT was established during the year 2008 with an intake of 60. It offers a four year undergraduate (B.Tech) program in Information Technology. The programme is focused and designed by JNTUK to empower women students to acquire overall skills and in depth knowledge in its specialization to make significant contributions to the ever changing needs and demands of the society and IT industry. The department has state-of-the-art laboratories and classrooms equipped with ICT-enabled learning resources to facilitate and enhance students on latest technologies and skills. The department had well qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty with expertise in broad range of subjects that made the teaching-learning process more interesting and encourage each student for overall growth and to develop their career in IT sector by visualizing the current needs of society. The department aims to disseminate knowledge and focus on each student towards self & lifelong learning, ethical values, research, team work and administration capabilities with high quality engineering education. Department also encourage every students to face various competitions, challenges, internship, innovations, and various student activities to explore towards entrepreneurship. The department is committed in organizing skill enhancement programs for improving the employability of students which has resulted in on-campus selections by several reputed MNCs with best packages.
The Information Technology department, led by Dr. B. Siva Lakshmi with over fourteen years of experience in teaching, research, and administration, is a source of pride for me. We have a team of passionate, young faculty members specializing in various areas. Our department is rapidly growing and producing skilled graduates for the corporate world. Our aim is to provide students with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills to meet societal needs. We foster a supportive work environment, encouraging lifelong learning and self-improvement among students. Our focus is on fostering innovation, with students encouraged to propose and implement creative ideas with faculty support. We prioritize Outcome Based Education through innovative teaching methods and collaboration with industry. Each student is mentored for academic success, career placement, and engagement in extracurricular activities. Our department consistently achieves good academic results and high placement rates. Faculty members are encouraged to publish research and participate in development programs and workshops. We document our achievements and activities in our newsletter, 'VIEW-IT'. We warmly welcome female students to join our dynamic learning community and empower them to become entrepreneurs.
