Department of IT was established during the year 2008 with an intake of 60. It offers a four year undergraduate (B.Tech) program in Information Technology. The programme is focused and designed by JNTUK to empower women students to acquire overall skills and in depth knowledge in its specialization to make significant contributions to the ever changing needs and demands of the society and IT industry. The department has state-of-the-art laboratories and classrooms equipped with ICT-enabled learning resources to facilitate and enhance students on latest technologies and skills. The department had well qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty with expertise in broad range of subjects that made the teaching-learning process more interesting and encourage each student for overall growth and to develop their career in IT sector by visualizing the current needs of society. The department aims to disseminate knowledge and focus on each student towards self & lifelong learning, ethical values, research, team work and administration capabilities with high quality engineering education. Department also encourage every students to face various competitions, challenges, internship, innovations, and various student activities to explore towards entrepreneurship. The department is committed in organizing skill enhancement programs for improving the employability of students which has resulted in on-campus selections by several reputed MNCs with best packages.

The department is currently headed by Dr. S. Kalyani, having fifteen plus years of experience in teaching, research and administration.
    It gives me an immense pleasure to lead the department of Information Technology. The department has a team of dynamic, young and dedicated faculty, with specialization in wide array of areas. Department of IT is growing exponentially in contributing efficient and technically sound students to the corporate world. Our goal is to provide students with intellectual and practical exposure that enable them to serve wide variety of societal needs. Department provide a very healthy work-culture and it believes in building career, enriching young minds and provides a remarkable experience that lasts a life time. Department motivate students towards self-learning, continuous learning which is more essential to keep the skill set of students up to date. It maintains active research groups for carrying out collaborative and interdisciplinary research. Students are exposed to interdisciplinary problems and are encouraged to develop leadership skills. “Innovation is more important than knowledge” Innovative ideas from students are encouraged and supported in implementing them with the support of the faculty members. We mainly focus on Outcome Based Education by innovative pedagogy, Industry-Institute interaction and each student is focused through a Mentor – Mentee Scheme where students are emphasized for good academics, placements and participation in extra and co-curricular activities. The department produce consistently good academic results and placements every year. The faculty members are encouraged to publish research papers in reputed journals, participate in Faculty Development Programs and workshop. The department preserves its achievements and publish all its activities by its newsletter ‘VIEW-IT’.
