The Department of Basic Sciences and Humanities has been in the vanguard of spreading knowledge and imparting skills in Sciences & Humanities to Engineering Students ever since the inception of the College. Consisting of teaching community of Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English, Environmental Science and Statistics, this Department has been a backbone in catering to the needs of the budding engineers in their pursuit of engineering knowledge and technological applications. The Department has both well qualified and dedicated faculty – a rich blend of dynamic knowledge and experience. Currently there are 25 members in the Department consisting of One Professor, 10 Associate Professors and 14 Assistant Professors. Members of the faculty are sufficiently encouraged to participate in Workshops, Conferences and Seminars to update themselves in the new areas of research and applications. They are regularly contributing to reputed journals in the frontiers of research.

     The sustained and combined efforts of the Department during the last decade have resulted in the remarkable achievement of students in both academic and extracurricular activities. The college tops in the highest pass percentage of students under JNTUK for the last ten years. The Department is proud that it has a key hand in that success rate.

   It gives me a great pleasure to welcome you all to the Department of Basic Science & Humanities. The curriculum for First year all branches of engineering is followed as per the syllabus designed by the affiliating University - JNTUK. The Department of Basic Sciences & Humanities plays a key role in offering basic science courses to provide a solid foundation as part of engineering education.
   The methodology followed in the classroom teaching is based on comprehensive lectures, regular assignments and active interaction between teachers and students. Therefore, the Department serves as an active catalyst to develop a precise approach to unlock their hidden talents, personality and communication skills to meet the needs of the future.
   We have proved our strength in the domain of studies which is shown in our academic track record. Speaking of our strengths in 1st B.Tech education, we have been the toppers among the JNTUK affiliated colleges five times out of eight batches admitted so far. The other three times we stood in 3rd, 4th & 5th positions.
